This paper compares two different personal accounts of school change, written by the head teacher of Stormont House Special School and the advanced skills teacher in drama at Islington Arts and Media School, who were both engaged in Creative Partnerships London East and South's Preferred Learning Styles and Creativity programme (2003-5).
Here, two education professionals from very different schools share their change approaches and lessons learnt, which form a useful guide for those planning and undertaking change in various forms.
For Stormont House change was the development of a new vision for the school and for Islington Arts and Media School it was the development of a new arts-based pedagogy across the curriculum to support different learning opportunities.
