Shereen Hunte is a museum educator, community practitioner and diverse history specialist. She has worked in the Culture and Heritage Sector for the past eight years in a variety of Learning and Engagement positions. Throughout the years, her career continues to prioritise diversity, equity, education and mindfulness. Currently, as Engagement Manager at the London Museum (formerly, Museum of London), she leads on the museum’s large-scale community events, co-produced displays and further engagement.

She has previously held roles at the Jewish Museum London and Historic Royal Palaces, and has led a number of freelance projects with the likes of the National Archives, The Friends of the Huntley Archives, Government and the Black Curriculum. She is a diverse history consultant, training organisations in inclusive practice, centred on the Black and Jewish experience(s). Beyond her museum-sector experience, she is the founder of a community group for Black women and a Bonnart Trust Scholar alumni.

Passionate about education, heritage, community and inclusive practice, Shereen welcomes the opportunity to strategically drive A New Direction to best achieve it’s mission in enhancing the capacity and agency of young people in London to share their culture achieve their creative potential.
