As part of our work with our SEND Network cohort in 2015/16, Paula Manning conducted a research report into best cultural education practice in the SEND sector - highlighting areas where schools and culture can work together to build on and celebrate the innovative and inspiring work that is already taking place.
The research seeks to capture a 'snapshot’ of examples of good practice in the provision of arts & cultural activities for SEND learners in London and offers an overview of conversations with representatives from 14 arts & cultural organisations, eight SEND Schools, and a select group of parents and pupils that formed the research sample.
Illustrating our learning so far about the tremendous opportunities and threats to provision in the future, it represents what we hope is just the start of a meaningful and ongoing dialogue between SEND Schools and arts & cultural organisations
