And that’s a wrap!

Last night our latest Creativity Works participants became our newest graduates! It was an exciting culmination of an intensive four week course for 25 young, creative Londoners. The young adults got to exclusively showcase the short film and documentary that they had been working on for the last couple of weeks. Both films were written, directed and edited by them – the true testament of just how talented these individuals are.

The event was a chance for us to celebrate their achievements but also for them to step back and award themselves the high praise they deserved. The Miranda Bar, in Ace Hotel, was full of family, friends, Creativity Works alumni and creative professionals – all there to congratulate the young adults on their hard work and dedication to the Creativity Works programme.

Highlights of the programme included a tour of Three Mills Studios, masterclasses with ustwo, BECTU, Wallpaper Mag, LFSA and even working on set at a horror/comedy feature film production in Fratton Prison. To find out more, click here.

Creativity Works is a Mayor’s Fund for London programme supported by Berkeley Group, and delivered by A New Direction and Create London. It is aimed at supporting 18-24 year old Londoners to get fair access to work opportunities in the wider creative industries. This was the 9th Creativity Works and explored a range of pathways into the Film Industry. London has always been a creative place and we want to keep it that way by ensuring local people get access to local employment opportunities.
