Fun festive events for creatives this December 22'
Get in the festive spirit this holiday season with our special round-up of free events with a creative twist
Winter Festival at the Southbank Centre
Wrap yourself in the spirit of the season with joyous shows, pop-up stalls, family fun, brilliant art, and twinkling market stalls at this annual Winter Festival. Last-minute Christmas gift shopping? The Christmas Market is the perfect place to go, with an array of traders selling festive treats and decorations.
You can also find free creative events to enjoy, highlights including:
- ‘Koestler Arts: Freedom' – exhibiting works made by people in the criminal justice system
- ‘Our Naked Truths’ - a group art session for women and non-binary people of colour

The Emerging Artist: a soft unwrapping
Join Yulin Huang, Whitechapel Gallery’s current Young Writer in Residence, alongside fine artist Natasha Brown for an evening of writing and discussions for emerging artists and young creatives alike.
Yulin will also be giving a special reading of ‘I Am (not in my bed)’ – her residency submission in response to the London Open 2022 – a confession to what it feels like to exist as a young emerging artist in London, right now.

Festive Friday Lates at the National Gallery
Join Originary Arts for a magical evening of theatrical life drawing and live singing by Assamiya, inspired by festive folklore.
Originary Arts are an interdisciplinary organisation that believes everyone can enjoy creativity. Sketch a model whose costume is inspired by the imagery of pagan goddesses, winter witches, snow queens and deities of December. There'll be glittering gold to capture in your drawings, movement, stillness, plus moments of live singing from Assamiya.

Style & Sound Christmas Party For Creatives
Close off the year with food, drinks, music, board games, films and more in this creative celebration with Style & Sound. It will be a chance to catch up with old friends and connect with new ones!

Winter Landscape Workshop with Trapped in Zone One
Trapped in Zone One is hosting a series of workshops at GreatArt faciliated by Bangladeshi heritage artist Husna Parvin.
Using mindfulness approach with the medium of acrylic and watercolour paint, the artist will guide you to create a winter landscape.
These workshops are FREE on a first come, drop-in basis. You can arrive at any point during the advertised times.
