Help shape Arts Council England's 25 Year Creative Talent Plan

Sound Connections are seeking responses to better understand young people’s perception of arts and culture

3 May 2017

Arts Council England are currently engaging in a series of conversations with people from all over England, to inform the creation of a 25 year creative talent plan. At the heart of this consultation are conversations with children and young people, and Sound Connections, on behalf of Arts Council England, are facilitating ten round table meetings to better understand young people’s perception of arts and culture and explore what barriers might exist to involvement.

In addition to these roundtables, Sound Connections have created a young people’s survey to ensure that they reach as wide a group of young people as possible.

The survey has been adapted for two age groups:

11-25 years old survey

7-11 years old survey

Sound Connections are seeking responses from children and young people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities; those that are engaged in arts and culture, and those who are perhaps less ‘traditionally’ involved; those from rural backgrounds and those living in cities; from a range of settings – schools, mainstream and SEND, youth clubs, cultural and heritage, sport, health etc.

If you work with young people in the age ranges above please forward on the appropriate link to help authentically reflect the opinions and views of young people from all over England, at a national policy making level. The outcomes of the survey will be proactively shared with all those that participate, with follow up information about how opinion will be incorporated and acted upon.

The surveys will be closed on Wednesday 17 May 2017.
