This year will mark our eighth year delivering the festival.
I Am Festival is our yearly celebration empowering D/deaf, disabled, and neurodiverse young people to explore their creativity. Over the past seven years, the festival has provided a platform for hundreds of young people to showcase their talents, leadership, ideas and opinions.
This year’s festival will be taking place from 15th May – 16th June (yes, that’s right. A whole month!) in schools and local communities across London on the theme of Activism.
As well as showcasing the work of our fantastic I Am Network (formerly SEND network) on our online platform, we will be hosting a CPD for teachers, a cultural sector masterclass and an activity for students in SEND settings.

A New Direction's I Am Network is a free professional development programme for educators working with D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent children and young people in London's schools and specialist settings. The Network meets twice a term over the academic year, working together to improve creative and cultural opportunities for children and young people who are D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent.
