This essay provides examples of structural and institutional change in three primaries and one special school in 2010/11 of the Creative Partnerships Change School programme (a three year Creative Partnerships programme that embeds creative working in schools to support an element of school change).

The change contexts include moving towards a more topic related curriculum, developing relationships with parents and creating opportunities for schools to work together to explore change together within a federation framework.

In these examples, creativity played a role in engaging families and parents in the change process and in the life of the school, and provided a vehicle for organisational development; a way of visualising change.
