We’re excited to launch a series of blogs to celebrate the National Year of Reading. Throughout 2026 we’ll be sharing ideas, memories and creative inspiration connected to our Primary Arts Masterclasses.
Each blog will pick up a different theme and will be written by a wonderful mix of authors, our partners at CLPE and our creative alumni each offering their own reflections and reading memories. The series will begin later this month, where you can expect accessible, teacher-friendly posts bursting with practical ideas.
Our Primary Arts Masterclasses are open to qualified teachers in eligible schools including class teachers from EYFS to KS2, English Subject Leads and Senior Leadership. These Masterclasses will take an inclusive approach and are suitable for teachers working in primary mainstream and SEND settings within any London borough.
At A New Direction we work to enhance the capacity and agency of children and young people to own their creativity, shape culture and achieve their creative potential. Through this yearlong celebration, we hope to spark joyful memories of storytelling, reading and nostalgia as we shine a spotlight on reading for all during the National Year of Reading.
To stay up to date, check out our blog section, follow us on social media and sign up to our newsletter. You can also get involved by sharing your favourite memories of reading, current/last read using the hashtag #PrimaryArtsReads #ReadingForPleasure2026.
If you’re interested in part in one of our 2026 Primary Arts Masterclasses, you can register via the Primary Arts booking platform.
