Arts Award London Network – Meeting #1 - 28 January 2021

Creative organisations and freelancers are invited to join A New Direction’s first Arts Award London Network meeting

Our Arts Award London Network meetings offer a space for networking, new ideas and nurturing creativity. There will be support and signposting provided on training and delivering Arts Award at all levels, along with workshops to consider how to effectively embed Arts Award into current and future projects and models of working.

Meeting 1 guest speaker - Christopher Elmer-Gorry

More Than Zoom with Christopher Elmer-Gorry Artistic Director and CEO of Warts and All Theatre

In a landscape where the go-to is to move engagement of young people in arts and culture online, Chris explores what Warts and All Theatre have done over the last 11 months – what worked, what didn’t, and how, as we head into lockdown 3.0, the company have constantly pivoted to respond to the needs of the communities it serves.

The session will explore how the company have delivered work online, engaged schools, hosted online Q&A’s with the UK’s most inspirational artists, created postal packs, and most recently sent interactive theatre experiences to their participants which blends online connection, in-home theatre and gamification.

There will be an opportunity to ask Chris questions about the organisation and his experience of leading an organisation through a pandemic following a short presentation.

More about the Network

A New Direction's Arts Award London Network will offer six monthly sessions between January and June 2021, along with an online workspace hosted on Slack for network members to stay connected. Network meetings will feature a mixture of presentations from A New Direction, young advocates who have completed Arts Award, organisations excelling in Arts Award, and industry experts sharing their practice and ideas, as well as group discussions, creative planning, and networking time.

Simply book your place at any of the upcoming meetings to join the network.

We hope that network members will be able to attend all meetings in order to develop meaningful and long-term partnerships, however, we understand this is not always possible. The meetings will aim to be responsive to the needs of those who join the network, meaning the group will grow and evolve as the programme continues.
