Last week, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh held an evening reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Contemporary British Poetry.

Our Chief Executive, Steve Moffitt, and the five Young Poet Laureate for London shortlistees -Jolade, James, Momina, Aisling and Bridget- were among the 300 attendees who had the opportunity to meet The Queen in person and join the celebration.

Other personalities from the poetry world who attended the reception, included Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, Children's Laureate 2013-2015 Malorie Blackman, playwright and poet John Agard, Scottish poet and dramatist Liz Lochhead, and author and broadcaster Lemn Sissay.

Below are some images of the young poets meeting The Queen in person. Enjoy them!
