Creativity Works: Content Production is a free 6-week intensive course that took place on weekdays from 31 Oct – 8 Dec 2022.
The course is designed for 35 creatives with aspirations to develop skills in storytelling & production, and gain the connections needed for a career in creating content for TV, long & short-form film, music, advertising, web and social media.
Over 6 weeks the participants learn how to create content for digital platforms and different audiences & will hear directly from directors and DOPs at the top of their game. Plus they respond to a live brief from our 2022 industry partners Swim Dem Crew to shoot and direct a 90-second short film – screened at the end of the programme and a valuable addition to any budding creatives portfolio.
Alumni from these courses have gone on to work for Netflix, HBO, Sky Studios, BBC, Untold Studios, Stink, Wieden + Kennedy, adam&eveDDB, and Prodigious as well as freelance roles and music video directing for artists including Dave, Wretch32, Stormzy, Santandave to name a few.
This short course is full time & delivered both online and in real life at The Good Growth Hub (Hackney Bridge) 5 days a week, Mon-Fri. This includes industry talks, development workshops, career advice and guidance, individual support, peer networking, and self-study. Participants get access to a MacBook Pro, with Adobe Suite installed, for the duration of the course, plus receive tutorials on how to use it. We require all participants to commit to the full duration of the course, including attending all required sessions. We strongly encourage applications from East Londoners as we work to bridge the opportunity gap and welcome applications from all young Londoners.
About Creativity Works
Creativity Works is our series of industry-co-designed experiential courses designed for young Londoners aged 18-24 who aren't in education, training, or employment, first launched in 2014. Currently, in its 5th iteration, each programme focuses on nurturing a specific creative skill set, from podcasting to filmmaking. Supported by the Mayor’s Fund for London, these courses are always free to attend and take place as an intensive programme across 6-weeks. Participants are always given access to a MacBook Pro and Adobe suite plus receive training via interactive workshops, masterclasses, talks and more.
