When you're ready to submit your application form, click here. FYI, the form has a few sections, so make sure you set aside some time to think about your answers before you apply. Most importantly, we want to know why you want to participate in the programme and see some evidence of your passion for all things digital - so make sure you evidence this throughout.
You have the option to upload any relevant work you would like us to see. This is not a compulsory part of the application, but if you have any relevant digital design or problem-solving work, we would love to see it!
Here's a recap of the application questions:
1. Why do you want to be part of the Flipside programme? (max. 200 words)
This question is looking for your understanding of the opportunity. Your answer includes what you hope to gain from this opportunity, what skills you have, and what you'd like to build on; you should highlight which aspects of the programme you would like to access most and why.
2. What excites you about the digital sector? (max. 200 words)
We're looking for individuals with a passion for the digital sector and a drive to pursue a career in digital design. Tell us about your motivation to immerse yourself in this sector and why it excites you. There may be a particular individual or organisation in the industry you admire or an app or website you love. Or do you have an idea for a digital product you want to make a reality? If you wish to upload your answer as an audio or video file, please write audio/video in this text box, and upload your file below.
We'll also ask you to tell us about any relevant experience that makes you a good fit for this programme, including unpaid and projects done in your own time.
3. What would you bring to the Flipside programme? (max. 200 words)
This programme is not looking for people with lots of paid experience in digital product design but people who have shown an interest in training or learning about the digital sector and are at the right level for a training programme.
We are not looking for a specific set of qualifications; instead, you will demonstrate creative problem-solving skills, be curious and love to learn, and have the drive and commitment to gain a career in digital design. You will have an interest and basic knowledge of design software (InVision), editing tools (Adobe), and familiarity with design techniques (prototyping). You will have strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, project management including time management and scheduling, the ability to work effectively within teams, and hold a creative mindset.
You can also choose to answer each question with an audio or video response (max 2 minutes per question)
Here's some top tips if you're recording your answers in audio or video formats:
- Plan out your answers to fit into the time limit (you can usually fit about 100 to 150 words into a minute, but everyone is different)
- Make sure there’s no background noise or visual distractions, a plain background is also best
- Don’t worry about the quality; we’re not so interested in your filming or editing skills; we’re going to be most interested in the content of your answers
- Remember to save your files (most types accepted), and include your name in the file title
