The resource of this week explores how four schools undertook creative projects that supported a whole school change.
Back in 2005 / 2006, Columbia, Islington Arts & Media School, Stoke Newington and Stormont House planned a piece of work with a range of creative partners to explore and develop models, systems and structures to place creativity at the centre of their practice.
The schools embedded changes in many aspects of the organisation including ethos and values, curriculum content and organisation, pedagogical approaches, staff development, external partnerships and methods of assessment.
"Senior managers in these schools are convinced that creative teaching and learning has a positive and demonstrable impact on pupils' social skills, motivation and achievements. Through Creative Partnerships, this conviction has spread across the whole school community and has been recognised by Ofsted" remembers Hannah Wilmot.
