Go & See

Offering a range of opportunities for pupils and their teachers to experience theatre and visual arts in London

Bookings for our summer season will open on Wednesday 26 February 2025. If you'd like to be kept informed about the summer season and other opportunities, please sign up for our schools enewsletter.

Go & See gives pupils and staff in one year group per school the opportunity to experience the arts within venues rather than at school. It also aims to support teachers to connect these experiences to classroom learning, through learning resources and online CPD sessions. The programme has two seasons: Winter 2024 and Summer 2025.

For the Summer season of Go & See, Schools can apply for tickets from a range of film, theatre and visual art options. The Summer season will open for booking requests on Wednesday 26 February 2025 at 8am and close at 12pm on Friday 21 March.

Schools will:

  • Receive tickets for a theatre performance, gallery visit or cinema screening in London for all classes in one year group.
  • Be supported to connect these experiences to classroom learning and the National Curriculum through online CPD and resources.

Access & Inclusion

An access budget is available to support participant engagement in this programme for pupils with access needs, for example towards transport, additional staff or other costs.

Eligibility

The Primary Arts Go & See programme is open to state primary and primary SEND settings in London. The programme aims to support pupils’ personal enjoyment, wellbeing and enrichment through the arts, as well as supporting their learning through resources and CPD for teachers.

Your school must be in a London borough to be eligible for the programme. If your school or a member of your school staff is participating in another area of the Primary Arts programme, you are still eligible to take part in this strand of the programme. If you participated in the pilot of the Go & See programme in 2023/24 or in the Winter season 2024/25, you are unlikely to be allocated a place on the programme this season.

Teacher CPD & Resources

A resource pack containing pre- and post- trip activities, and a visual story will be available for all participating schools. A pre-recorded CPD will be available for schools attending a visual arts offer. This will explore:

  • Using visual art in the classroom
  • How to prepare primary aged pupils for a visit to a gallery.
  • Ideas for activities to do before and after a visit to a gallery.
  • How to engage with gallery spaces and artworks and ideas for activities to do during a visit.
